Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is ‘one of the best in the world’.

The French stopper put in another sensational display to thwart Manchester United on several occasions as the two sides played out a frenetic 0-0 draw.

In a game which saw the visitors dominate the opening 45 minutes and the home side produce the clear cut chances in the second half, Pochettino revealed he thought it was a fair result.

He said: “I think that we showed we are more solid like a team, our performance was good, in the first half they had more chances but I think it was a fair result.”

Spurs fans felt they could have had a penalty in the second half on two occasions from corners when Harry Kane and Federico Fazio were both hauled down.

But the Tottenham boss was not convinced and said: “Maybe it was a penalty but because I saw it on the television now but my vision was blocked.”

Manchester United boss stated that it was ‘scientifically impossible’ to recover for two games in 48 hours, however Pochettino felt that the teams were in the ‘same condition.’

He said: “The condition for both teams was the same. I never complain about when an opponent is the same level as you.

“Spurs from the start of the season have had less recovery time than anyone else. I never complain about that, I think Manchester United had the same recovery time today.”

Pochettino praised the work of his defence and Lloris for the clean sheet.

“Lloris is one of the best keepers in the world, it is not new for me, and we know what he is like.

Clean sheet is important, I think you always need to improve but I am happy with the performance. Our players made a big effort today to play less than 48 hours after the last game.”
