Mauricio Pochettino believes this was ‘the best atmosphere’ he has seen at White Hart Lane as Spurs came from behind to beat Arsenal.

Kane levelled with a tap in from a corner and then won the match for the home side with a fine header to beat Arsenal for the first time since March 2013.

The young English striker has 24 goals in all competitions to his name and the Spurs boss was full of praise for him

He said: “I think Harry today showed he is a great player and a great performance but I believe he can still improve and we need to push him because he’s potential is massive.”

It did not start great for the home side as Mesut Ozil fired the away side in front but Spurs were on the front foot and created far more chances.

On whether this was Pochettino’s most pleasing day in charge, he said: “I don’t know, but I think this is special in the derby and all that means. It is three points against Arsenal and we have played with our brain and showed passion and emotion. W

“The team work very hard and deserve this victory so I am happy. We showed that we can play like a team.”

Pochettino found it tough to impose his philosophy on the North London team earlier in the season with disappointing loses at White Hart Lane to Stoke, West Brom and Newcastle.

Yet the side seemed to have turned a proverbial corner which pleased the Spurs boss.

He said: “We must keep focussed and we have a lot of games to come and keep to our philosophy and beliefs. We will look at the table at the end of the season.”

On the atmosphere, he said: “I think this was the best atmosphere yes, I am very pleased for our supporters.”

Spurs now face a trip to Anfield to far Liverpool in the week and will provide a stern test for a side that left nothing on the pitch this afternoon.
