Haringey Borough moved eight points clear at the top of the Essex Premier Division after back-to-back wins this week.
Boro romped to a 4-0 home victory over closest challengers Barking on Saturday before edging to a 2-1 win at Basildon United on Wednesday night.
The visitors had to come from behind to see off Basildon in a challenging match.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Boro equalised two minutes into the second period through Darrell Cox’s header.
Cox fired home the winner from inside the penalty area after 65 minutes to move them eight points clear of second-placed Barking.
It was much more comfortable last weekend with Cox scoring twice from close range.
Leroy Griffiths effectively clinched victory with their third goal.
Joe Staunton received a second yellow card late on before Dean Fenton followed up after his initial penalty has been saved by Jason Willis.
