Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offload all seven players signed with the money they received from Real Madrid for £85m Gareth Bale, according to the Daily Mirror.

And chairman Daniel Levy will back manager Mauricio Pochettino to reinvest those funds into players who fit into the Argentine’s style of play.

The seven, Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Nacer Chadli, Vlad Chiriches, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela amounted to a £100m spending spree in summer 2013 under former boss Andre Villas-Boas.

But only Eriksen and Chadli have been able to make their mark on the first team, with the others on the fringes of the squad.

And it is understood Pochettino is unhappy with the lack of quality in the squad, following a disappointing season in which Spurs look almost certain to miss out on Champions League football.

But Daniel Levy confirmed to the Tottenham Supporters Trust he will go back to targeting players valued at between £10m and £15m after the expensive signings failed to make an impact.

They are reportedly targeting Southampton’s duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez, who both played under Pochettino at St Mary’s Stadium.
