THE Pavilion Open Exhibition will be available to view from May 19 to June 25 with a preview taking place on May 23 from 2pm until 5pm.

In the inaugural open art exhibition work from artists, makers and photographers based from around the corner to around the country will be proudly exhibited.

This exhibition is the result of an overwhelming response to Penarth Pier Pavilion’s open call, providing the rare opportunity of a real clear view into the artist studios of Penarth and beyond.

All 29 artists selected have been chosen for their outstanding merit in their respective fields of ceramics, collage, drawing, glass, painting, printmaking, photomedia, sculpture and textiles. This list alone represents the level of artistic diversity that have been attracted to this Open, and as an indicator of their evolving and responsive practices.

Artists’ work on display will be from Anthony Batey, Bill Bone, Philippa Brown, Frank Collict, Debbie Court, Sara Dodd, C S Everly, Dorcas Frazer, Keith Harvey, Karen Hughes, Steven Irwin, Gigi Jones, Lucia Elena Jones, Emma Jordan, Liz Lloyd, Judith Martin-Jones, Chris Meechan, Robert Moon, Gary Rees, Mark Robinson, Karen Rogers, Joy Saunders, Judy Stephens, Carmen Stahl, Pauline Williams, Sally Williams, Lesley Wihl, Sandra Wintle and Melanie Wotton.

There will be three prizes awarded on this occasion of the Pavilion Open Exhibition 2015 including the PACL Chair Award which will be awarded by professor Tony Hazell, a cash prize of £100 to financially further the practice of the chosen artist. The Visitors Choice Award will be awarded to the most popular work as chosen by the public, to be exhibited within the Pavilion Cafe, to be enjoyed by visitors for six months.
