Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado’s stay at White Hart Lane appears to be nearing an end, with reports that he is likely to move back to Spain.

Soldado had been previously linked with Galatasaray, but according to El Periodico Mediterraneo, his agents have been in discussions with Villareal over the past few days.

Tottenham are likely to be holding out for close to £12 million for a player who has been a significant disappointment since his move from Valencia two years ago, but who still has two years left to run on his contract.

The Spanish striker, who has 12 international caps, has only managed to find the net on seven occasions in 51 Premier League appearances for Spurs.
