Haringey’s female volleyball team took home silver medals in the London Youth Games last weekend.
The volleyball team were defeated in the final by defending champions Wandsworth.
Team manager Michael Omojudi said: “Getting through to the final was the biggest challenge because we knew how Kingston were going to be a really tough opponent and they proved that, taking us to the third set.
"But we came strong, we came tall, we came big and we got some medals. But even though we stumbled [in the final], we kept on going and we gave them a good run for their money.”
There were also bronze medals for the male basketball team, the female cricket team, and the fencing team. Haringey placed 13th out of 33 boroughs overall.
The Games, which see over 100,000 young Londoners participating across 31 sports, take place every year, with the finals at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
