Harry Redknapp told Spurs flop Roman Pavlyuchenko he "would be in the team every week" if he produced more of the quality he showed for his goal, on Saturday.
Spurs drew 2-2 with League One Leeds Utd in the FA Cup round four tie, at White Hart Lane.
Jermaine Beckford scored a penalty in the depths of extra time to earn a replay at Elland Road.
Peter Crouch put the hosts ahead just before half-time, only for Beckford to bring the visitor's level.
Afterwards, Spurs midfielder Luka Modric admitted: "We're all disappointed," He said Spurs failed in front of their home fans.
"We deserved the win.
"We didn't take our chances and in the end we conceded a bit of an unlucky goal."
Modric was happy to see Pavlyuchenko find the net at last.
I was pleased for him. Pav's a great player and a great lad and it was an excellent goal. It was a good moment for him."
