SPURS: 'I want Eidur to stay', says Redknapp

HARRY Redknapp is desperate to keep Eidur Gudjohnsen at Spurs to strenghten the stike force.

Gudjohnsen was powerful gainst Stoke City to put Spurs 1-0 in the game, yesterday.

His effort set the visitors on course to a 2-1 win, and pleased the boss too.

"The rest of the lads like him and they really love playing with him" said Redknapp.

"I want to keep him here next year."

Gudjohnsen's rise into the first team comes as Roman Pavlyuchenko continues to impress.

The Russian used to be a flop at White Hart Lane, but now he is in favour after a string of good displays.

Explaining how he around his White Hart Lane career, Pavlyuchenko said: "When your spirits are down you should always look upwards and ahead.

"When I got my chance and I wanted to capitalise on it as much as I could.

The main thing is not to give up and to look ahead, that is how it works out" he told SpursTV.
