Tottenham Hotspur to hold testimonial match for Ledley King at White Hart Lane

White Hart Lane will play host to a testimonial match for Ledley King, Spurs have announced.

The 31-year-old called time on his playing career earlier today, admitting that the injuries which have often plagued him have forced him to make the decision.

The fixture will take place at the end of the coming season with the opposition to be determined at a later date.

Spurs have said they will work with Ledley’s Testimonial Committee to ensure a fitting tribute is paid to the defender.

Chairman Daniel Levy told the club’s website: “It will undoubtedly be a special night at the Lane, the chance for fans and team-mates to pay tribute to our longest-serving, not to mention one of the most gifted players in the history of the Club.”
