Tottenham Hotspur quartet prepare for England friendly against Italy
12:40pm Tuesday 14th August 2012 in Sport
Tottenham Hotspur have four players who could potentially all play for England this Wednesday against Euro 2012 runners-up Italy.
Squad regulars Jermaine Defoe and Kyle Walker have been joined in Roy Hodgson’s team by youngsters Steven Caulker and Jake Livermore, both of whom could make their full international debuts.
After a poor display in Poland and Ukraine – including a loss to Italy on penalties in the quarter-finals – Hodgson and his coaching staff have decided to look at potential squad members for the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Caulker, 20, has already represented England at Under-19 level in the European Championships in France; he started every game in the side's progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
Livermore, 22, has made a promising start to his career at White Hart lane and made 38 apperances for Spurs in all competitions last season.
