NICKLAS BENDTNER kept Arsenal's title dream alive with a late strike to sink battling 10-man Hull City on Saturday.

The Danish striker's stoppage time winner ensured Arsene Wenger's team kept pace with Chelsea and Manchester United, who also won at the weekend.

Bendnter pounced on a mistake from Hull keeper Boaz Myhill, who parried Denilson's 30-yard shot into the striker's path in the 94th minute.

Arsenal had taken a 13th minute lead when Bendnter threaded a ball through for Andrey Arshavin, who bundled his way past two defender before burying his hot into the far corner.

However, if the travelling fans thought the game would become a cakewalk they were wrong as Hull were level after 30 minutes.

Venegoor of Hessilink was in an offside position when he latched on to a through ball, but the linesman kept his flag down and the Dutch striker was hauled to the ground by Sol Campbell.

The former England defender escaped a sending off, despite being the last man, and Jimmy Bullards stepped up to smash the resulting penalty past Manuel Almunia.

George Boateng was then shown his second yellow card of the afternoon after an ugly studs-up challenge on Bacary Sagna.

Despite having to play the entire second half with 10 men, Phil Brown's men held firm, until Bendtner's late intervention.

Arsenal remain two points adrift of Manchester United, while they are behind Chelsea on goal difference, although Carlo Ancelotti's side have a game in hand.
