Friedel 7

Was quick off his line to sweep up a number of through balls and made an important save from Aguero in the second half. Might have stood up better for the winner.

Walker 5

Never caused Clichy any problems going forward and proved unconvincing at the back. Should have cleared with his left foot when his heavy touch played in Aguero for the equaliser.

Gallas 7

Got caught out by a long ball which beat Caulker in the first half but directed the offside trap to good effect.

Caulker 7

Did well to head in the opening goal but was too easily sold by some quick feet by Aguero for the equaliser. Generally sound though in challenging circumstances.

Vertonghen 6

Unusually frantic in possession and was beaten down the right too often in the second half.

Sandro 8

Tirelessly tracked City's midfielders and nullified the threat of Yaya Toure to good effect. Could have been tighter to Silva in the latter stages but was comfortably Tottenham's man of the match.

Huddlestone 6

Worked hard to break up play and made some important interceptions. But missed the target from the edge of the area in the first half, was fortunate to get away with an unnecessary challenge in the box and gave the ball away in the build up to the equaliser.

Lennon 5

Failed to attack Clichy round the outside at all and never looked like getting in behind City's defence. Unambitious going forward and occasionally careless when tracking back.

Bale 6

Hustled his way through to unleash a shot in the second half but otherwise largely ineffective. Decision-making unusually rushed and failed to protect Vertonghen enough in the second half.

Dempsey 5

Looked nervous in possession and gave the ball away too frequently in the final third. Should have been more decisive in his movement when Bale got through and crossed to the near post in the second half.

Adebayor 8

Justified his selection ahead of Defoe, particularly in the first half. Held the ball up, won headers and free-kicks and linked up with the midfield to good effect most notably with a neat back heel to Huddlestone early on. Faded in the second period and got booked.
