Michael Dawson's proposed £4m move to Hull City has stalled, according to Tigers boss Steve Bruce.

The 30-year-old centre-back had been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, with Hull City understood to be leading the chase for the former England international.

However a deal now looks to be in the balance, with Dawson requesting a pay-off from Spurs to compensate him for the testimonial he would be due in January afte ten years of service at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are refusing to compensate the former Nottingham Forest defender, who is requesting a four-year deal at the KC Stadium, if Spurs do not reimburse him.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Bruce said: As far as Michael is concerned, it's stalemate and at the moment we are as far away as we can be from doing a deal."

Dawson has one year remaining on his contract at White Hart Lane.
