Haringey Borough are seven points clear at the top of the Essex Senior League after crushing London Bari 5-0 away from home on Saturday.

After the disappointment of their FA Vase exit, Boro bounced back in the best possible fashion to swat aside London Bari in convincing fashion.

Victory means Tom Loizou’s side are comfortably ahead of Barking in second and have now scored a whopping 34 goals in eight away fixtures.

Dean Fenton netted a hat-trick, with the others goals coming via Dewayne Clarke and Anthony McDonald.

Fenton handed the visitors the lead after just four minutes, setting the tone for the rest of the afternoon.

Just after the half-hour mark, Clarke doubled the lead before Fenton added two more to complete his treble; the second an audacious 35-yard lob which left the hosts’ goalkeeper stranded.

McDonald, who has been out of action due to injury, made his first-team return from the substitute’s bench and marked his comeback in ideal fashion when he raced through to complete the scoring at the death.

Bari never posed a threat after the break as Boro cantered to victory.

Boro are at home to Southend Manor FC on Saturday.
