A Harry Kane double saw Spurs come from behind to beat bitter rivals Arsenal in the North London Derby.

Mesut Ozil gave the visitors the lead finishing off an incisive breakaway before Kane levelled for the lilywhites as he slammed home a rebound from a corner.

Kane then rounded off a perfect comeback with five minutes to go as he headed in from a Danny Rose cross to send the fans into pandemonium.

It was a victory well deserved for the home side that were always on the front foot.

Nabil Bentaleb came straight back into the Spurs side for the clash after returning for the African Cup of Nations and the home side also chose to bring in Eric Dier to replace Federico Fazio.

Both teams caming into the game in good form having both taken 19 points from a possible last 24 but it was always as rosy in North London.

For the home side it’s been about adapting to Pochettino’s high tempo and fast pressing game and it may have taken a while but the side has been transformed in recent months and no game showed that more than the 5-3 victory over rivals Chelsea.

Similarly with Arsenal who are only just hitting their stride which was ignited by a clinical performance at the Etihad to beat Manchester City 2-0.

Pochettino’s side began the game much the brighter; imposing their game on the Gunners and Kane almost gave the team a perfect start but for the hand of David Ospina.

But in a similar way to the Chelsea match, the visitors took the lead against the run of play.

The pace of Danny Welbeck got the wide man past Rose and he cut back to Olivier Giroud who could only slice his shot fortuitously into the path of Ozil who volleyed home.

A setback; but Spurs kept on coming at their rivals and had several chances to equalise in the opening stages of the half.

Left back Rose - who was playing more as a left winger - first forced a low save out of Ospina and then drove a shot agonisingly past the post – he was getting a lot of joy down the left hand side.

Ryan Mason then tried his luck from distance as Spurs kept on coming at Arsenal, Ospina was again on hand with a one for the camera’s

Arsenal barely saw the ball in the first half, such was the pressure from the home side and the lilywhites took the same tempo into the start of the second half.

It took them just eleven second half minutes to equalise and it came from corner. A header flicked on from Dier was brilliantly saved from Ospina but Kane was one hand to tap home in front of the watchful England manager Roy Hodgson.

Arsenal sprung into life after a tepid first 55 minutes from the visitors and Hugo Lloris was on hand to keep out a rasping shot from Welbeck.

But it was the home side that were making the inroads and they were rewarded for their fine display with a winning goal.

Good play from Rose down the left as he stood a cross up for Kane to do the rest and he did so, leaping beyond Koscielny and running off to celebrate with his adoring fans.

Arsenal had no comeback in the final stages and Spurs claimed the victory as they moved about the Gunners by a single point.
