Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield exodus looks set to continue as Andros Townsend is increasingly linked with a move away to West Ham United.

Paulinho, Lewis Holtby and Etienne Capoue have already all left White Hart Lane, with Benjamin Stambouli and Aaron Lennon also likely to be sold.

Townsend has no shortage of suitors, with Aston Villa, Sunderland and Swansea City all having been mentioned in recent weeks, but West Ham are trying to edge ahead in the race for his signature.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that the Hammers are willing to offer up to £15 million for the winger, although they fear privately the move might be scuppered by the bad relations between the two clubs, which began when they beat Spurs in the bid to take over the Olympic Stadium.

The England international, 23, only made ten starts under Mauricio Pochettino last season, and with the European Championships next summer, is said to see the need for regular football.
