HARINGEY topped their group in the London Youth Games badminton qualifiers and will be one of eight boroughs fighting it out to be champions this weekend.
Haringey’s mixed team qualified from a group containing Ealing, Kensington & Chelsea and Southwark. The full squad was Angus Pedersen, Ralph Pedersen, Daniel Freshwater Ramzey Sabbagh, Sefki Bayram, James Kee, Bertina Ho, Gemma Palopoli , Neha Chauhan and Charlotte Attwood.
Commenting on the borough’s success, team manager Leon Mitchell said: “The team did everything I asked of them and fulfilled their expectations. We’re looking forward to the finals this weekend and hope we can bring the trophy back to Haringey.”
Haringey player Ramzey Sabbagh added: “The team played well and we’re happy to have qualified, especially after our brilliant performance against Southwark in the final match.”
