Spurs aiming for FA Cup glory

SPURS will be aiming to reach the last four of the FA Cup this Saturday.

The Lilywhites travel to Fulham in the quarter final of a competition that manager Harry Redknapp takes very seriously.

Redknapp is no stranger to Wembley, having lifted the trophy with Portsmouth a couple of years ago.

And, though the Premier League is always the priority, Redknapp knows the knockout competitions are the best and, perhaps only chance, for clubs outside the big four to lift some silverware.

Fulham have been one of the surprise teams this season. Under boss Roy Hodgson the Cottagers have been revitalised. Instead of battling relegation, they are enjoying European football and will fancy their chances of progressing further in the FA Cup.

The West Londoners have a great home record in the Premier League. They have won nine matches and lost just three.

However, Spurs' away record is much better this season too.

Redknapp's troops will also go into the game full of optimism, having got themselves back in the top four in the league table following Sunday's 2-1 win over Everton.

Roman Pavlyuchenko and Luka Modric were on target and, though Tottenham were hanging on for the points at the end, Redknapp was pleased with the display.

"Overall I was delighted with the performance and the attitude of the lads," he said.

Saturday's cup tie at Craven Cottage kicks off at 5.20pm.
