Borough climbed to sixth in the Spartan Premier Division table with a convincing win.
Opening exchanges were even with Daniel Ailey lifting the ball just over the bar as he raced clear. Then Harefield scuffing a fine close range chance well wide, soon afterwards.
Harefield always looked dangerous with some fast neat build ups, but lacked any cutting edge.
Borough began to get well on top as the game wore on and it was no surprise when Daniel Ailey met Theo Charalambos’s cross from the right at the far post to plant his header firmly into the net in the 36th minute.
Only three minutes later Ailey doubled the lead when he burst clear through the middle, shrugging off defenders challenges, to drive the ball low and hard into the corner. 2-0.
It was only a superb save by the keeper which denied him a first half hat-trick, soon afterwards.
Harefield started brightly after the interval and it was Edwards turn to shine as he somehow palmed away a fierce close range drive as he threw himself to his right.
Borough survived the pressure without further scares and again began to string together some fine moves with Marvin Walker and David Boal pulling the strings in the heart of the midfield.
Borough never looked in any real danger of conceding after that. The win was wrapped on 83 minutes, when Ailey cut in from the right and unselfishly rolled the ball into the path of substitute Luke Bryan who slammed it home.
