Tottenham Hotspur closing in on Everton striker - but midfielder may move back the other way

Louis Saha is said to be close to finalising a move to Spurs – with Steven Pienaar possibly heading back in the other direction to former club Everton.

The Toffees striker is reportedly on the brink of signing an 18-month deal with Harry Redknapp’s side in what had seemed an unexpected move at the start of the day.

There has been persistent speculation since the transfer window opened that Pienaar was keen to leave White Hart Lane after finding his first-team opportunities limited.

Queens Park Rangers had appeared a possible destination for the midfielder, but it now appears more likely that he is heading back to Goodison Park.
