footballers are paid far too much now, why the testimonial? I know Watford players don't get too much but say he earns £8k a week still ends up as £400k a year.

Watford will play a side from Tottenham Hotspur in August for Lloyd Doyley's testimonial.

The defender confirmed Watford will play Spurs at Vicarage Road on Saturday, August 4 for his testimonial.

There is also expected to be a 'legends' game between the two clubs before the main event.

Doyley made his Watford debut in September 2001 and has gone on to make 370 appearances for the club, scoring one memorable goal.
