Haringey Borough clinched a 2-1 win at Greenhouse London in the Essex Senior League on Tuesday night.

The visitors opened the scoring after 22 minutes when Anthony McDonald cut in from the right and turned the ball home.

Five minutes later he was instrumental in their second goal as he raced in from the left and struck a shot which was fortunately diverted into the net by defender John Oyenuga.

The second half was a completely different story as Greenhouse dominated the game and gave Haringey a real scare.

Daniel Walker brought down Micka Mackangol inside the area but Greenhouse’s Andrea Mantovani fired his penalty wide of the post.

The hosts got the goal they deserved in the last minute of normal time when Mackangol smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range. However, Boro held out to claim the away victory.

It was their second win on the road after picking up a 2-0 success at Ilford last weekend.

The visitors took the lead at the Cricklefield Stadium after 34 minutes when Tyrone Cazaubon bundled home his first goal for the club at the far post. Within two minutes, Boro had added another goal when Dean Fenton accurately flicked the ball over the keeper from the edge of the penalty box.

Boro’s next match is tomorrow [Saturday] when they host Eastern Counties League side Brantham Athletic in the third round of the FA Vase.
