Besiktas are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Younes Kaboul after missing out on Nemanja Vidic, according to The Mirror.

The Turkish side reportedly offered the Manchester United captain £120,000-a-week, but were trumped by Inter, who Vidic will play for next season.

Instead, Besiktas have turned their attention to Kaboul, who have identified the defender as someone with qualities similar to Vidic, and are said to be optimistic about their chances of signing him.

Kaboul has dropped down the pecking order under Tim Sherwood and could be on his way out of White Hart Lane, as Spurs plan several new additions to their defence.

Besiktas currently sit in second place of the Turkish Super Lig, and as things stand, will qualify for the Champions League.
