Romelu Lukaku's agent has revealed that he has been in contact with Spurs owner Daniel Levy about a possible move to White Hart Lane.

The Belgian forward, 20, currently on loan at Everton from Chelsea, had been linked with a move across London earlier this week.

This is the striker's second season away from Stamford Bridge on loan, with the former Anderlecht frontman spending last season at West Bromwich Albion.

Despite Jose Mourinho's insistance that he is unhappy with the club's current striking options, Lukaku's future with the West London outfit is far from clear, with Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa believed to be on Mourinho's radar.

Speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Christophe Henrotay said: "I'm looking for a club for Romelu. And yes, I've talked to Daniel Levy once, but that doesn't mean Romelu will definitely join Spurs. That's not a talking point at this moment."

Signed from Anderlecht in 2011 for a fee reported to be as high as £17m, Chelsea will be keen to recoup as much of their investment as possible in order to fund any potential move for a replacement.

"There aren't 20 teams that can afford to buy Romelu," continued Henrotay. "He won't go from Everton to, let's say, Swansea.

"There's also a difference between Everton that plays against relegation and an Everton that fights for European football."

Lukaku has only made one Premier League start for the Blues since signing almost three years ago.
