Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood has labelled his Danish star Christian Eriksen ‘Bergkamp-esque’, following the playmaker’s late equaliser against West Brom on Saturday.
Spurs frantically rescued a draw after finding themselves 3-0 down after 31 minutes of play at the Hawthorns.
It was Eriksen who cut in from the left and found the top right-hand corner to equalise, much to his manager’s delight.
According to Sherwood, the Dane's technique and calmness on the ball is reminiscent of Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.
“Bergkamp-Esque," Sherwood told the Daily Mail. "When it lands to him you know he’s going to be ice cold”.
Bergkamp actually worked with Eriksen prior to his move to Tottenham last summer at Ajax, where he has been an assistant manager since 2011.
