Spurs midfielder Etienne Capoue has returned to first team training after nearly two months out.

The powerful French enforcer has been sidelined with an ankle injury sustained against Norwich City on February 23.

Capoue, 25, has made just eight Premier League starts for Tottenham since joining from Toulouse for just shy of £10m last summer.

Out of favour under Tim Sherwood, the French international was injured early on in his Spurs career.

Speaking to the club's official site, Sherwood said: "It's great to see him back in training but he has been out for two months, so we have to be careful.

"We'll continue to monitor him closely."
