Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker could miss the World Cup after the extent of his pelvic injury was revealed.

The 23-year-old full-back has been out of action for Spurs since their Europa League exit at the hands of Benfica in March.

England manager Roy Hodgson has now conceded that the former Sheffield United man could miss next month's World Cup.

"We haven't been told for certain that he will be out for the next six to ten weeks, but we are concerned," Hodgson told the BBC.

"I know he has had another injection. We are waiting to find out if that helps. He has not been fit for a long time," added Hodgson.

Walker is the second England international to see his World Cup place come under threat due to injury this week, with Andros Townsend doubtful due to ankle ligament damage.
