Tottenham legend David Ginola is predicting his former side to bring their free scoring preseason form into the new campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have netted 14 times in four games so far in their preseason matches against Celtic as well as MLS sides Toronto, Chicago Fire and Seattle Sounders.

Talking with the Haringey Independent on Spurs’ scoring form, Ginola said: “I guess they are going to do the same throughout the entire season.

“It is so important to play friendly games, you are preparing yourself for the team and the season and I hope that Pochettino will do the right thing and bring the right spirit into the dressing room so they will be ready for the first game.”

The Spurs legend was helping to launch a new partnership with his current employers BT Sport and the Tottenham Foundation which will help children in care.

Ginola added: “It is a long and difficult season and hopefully they will end up with something. The best wish is for top four or perhaps a League Cup or FA cup.”

The North London side’s transfer business looks far from over with Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio and Dutch international Memphis Depay at the top of Pochettino’s wish list.

However, Ginola believes it is all about quality and not quantity of signings.

He said: “It is not quantity it is quality and I think they have got enough players to work with. Now they need to bring the talent all together to play as a team for Spurs aiming for the same goal.

That is often the main task for a manager these days; making sure every player in the dressing room is aiming for the same thing.”

Tottenham play their final preseason fixture today against Schalke 04 at White Hart Lane at 5.30pm.
