Haringey Borough increased their lead at the summit of the Essex Senior League Premier Divsion to 13 points after beating Tower Hamlets 2-1 on Saturday.
The win is Borough’s 18th from just 19 league fixtures.
A superb individual goal from Anthony McDonald and a header from Darrell Cox sealed the win for Tom Loizou’s side, who were far from their best.
Both teams spurned good early opportunities before Borough went in front, McDonald netted in stunning fashion.
In the 67th minute Haringey doubled up as former Chesham United striker Cox thumped in a header.
The lead was short-lived, as just three minutes after going 2-0 up, Sodiq Ayinde headed home a free kick for the home side to halve the deficit.
Haringey travel to Barking’s Mayesbrook Park on Saturday.
