Haringey Borough are joint top of the Essex Premier Division after easing to a 4-0 win at Southend Manor on Saturday.

After a recent scoring drought for the league leaders, Boro got back on track to boost their title hopes witha convincing away win.

Braces from both Walid Matata and Darrell Cox fired them to a comfortable victory at Southend Manor.

But it could have been a much bigger margin of victory for Haringey with the home goalkeeper making a series of impressive saves.

Boro keeper Ashley Harris was untroubled in the first half but made two excellent saves after the break to ensure the visitors kept a clean sheet.

Tom Loizou’s side are level on points with Barking but have played two games less than their closest rivals.

Boro return to action this weekend with a trip to Bowers & Pitsea before hosting Sporting Bengal United on Tuesday.
