Haringey Hawks registered two play-off final wins at the weekend, with their Under-18 and Under-14 teams in action.

The Under-18s beat Islington Panthers 46-33 while the Under-14 side secured a convincing 36-23 win over Brent Ballers.

The tough Panthers squad gave the Hawks a stern test and Chiem Eluwa helped Islington to gain a one-point lead (13-12) at the halfway point.

But the third quarter saw Ryan Springer come out to play as he landed two dunks to help Hawks finish the third 34-20.

Springer continued to play hard and fast and his two reverse lay-ups handed the Hawks to a 13-point win.

The Under-14s secured an even larger victory against Brent Ballers thanks to a brilliant performance from captain Elliot Quali.

Teammate Alema Abe was also on form as he notched eight points to give Hawks a 28-14 lead.

Ballers’ Fabio Mills provided tough competition as he contributed a solid four points for his team but Hawks added six more points to take the win.

Springs said: “It has been a great final for us as both our Under-14 team and Under-18 team secured our chips.

“It’s great to win the season and we look forward to doing it all again next year.”
