Serie A side Fiorentina have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches according to Sky Italia.
The Italian outfit are reportedly closing in on a deal for the Romanian defender with Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa believed to be an admirer of the former Steaua Bucharest man, having previously tried to sign him.
Sky Italia understand the Serie A outfit want to take Chiriches on a season-long-loan with the option of making the move permanent, but Spurs want a full transfer for the defender.
It is believed that an agreement could be reached between the two-sides this week, should the Romanian be willing to take a pay cut to join La Viola.
Chiriches was restricted to 19 appearances for Spurs last season, scoring once against Burnley in the FA Cup.
