Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane will not be sold after the club told Manchester United to forget about signing the England striker, according to the Guardian.

The 22-year-old scored 31 goals for the club last season and has been constantly linked with the Red Devils this summer.

Daniel Levy met United vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, in May to notify him his star man is not for sale and Spurs are not interested in any bids.

Kane is Mauricio Pochettino’s only senior striker, with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor looking for deals away from the club.

Spurs are in the market for a striker themselves and have been linked with the Red Devils' wantaway striker Javier Hernandez.

But Spurs feel they won’t be able to discuss a deal with United without them demanding for Kane in return as part of the deal.

The striker has just been named the club’s new number ten and will be looking to build on his sensational first season which saw him named PFA Young Player of the Year and found himself in PFA Team of the Year.

His outstanding first season was topped off by claiming back to back player of the month awards for January and February respectively, joining a list of just three others that have achieved that feat, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
