RAFAEL van der Vaart has ruled out a move to Spurs by claiming that the Premier League side are 'not the club' he wants to go to.
Tottenham are long-term admirers of the Dutch international and were hoping to bolster their midfield with his signature - but this latest revelation has quashed any hopes of capturing the playmaker.
The 25-year-old hasn't ruled out a move away from current club Hamburg but it would need an 'exciting' club to tempt him away from the German side.
Speaking to a German newspaper he said: "The interest has been there for some time already.
"But they (Spurs) are not the club I want to go to. Tottenham are not a club I would swap Hamburg for.
"The chance I will stay at Hamburg is really big. As long as no team comes by which makes me immeadiately excited.
"I see no reason to leave, and as far none of these clubs have called us."
