STEED Malbranque has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
The Frenchman had a fine season with the north Londoners last term.
But with star names being brought into the club over the summer - such as Luka Modric and Giovani dos Santos - he is expected to be one on the unfortunate names that are sacrificed by boss Juande Ramos.
Keeping tabs on the situation is Martin O'Neill and the The Times has reported that the Irishman is very keen on the hard-working midfielder.
The 28-year-old is a versatile player who has won over the fans at White Hart Lane with his dedicated and passionate performances.
This drive has grabbed the attention of O'Neill and the Villa boss could pick Malbranque up cheaply as Spurs look to balance the books after splashing the cash on their big name arrivals.
It is rumoured that £5 million would be enough to prise away a player who has made 62 appearances in his two seasons at Tottenham.
