SPURS were stunned by a sensational United comeback at Old Trafford this evening.
The Lilywhites raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Darren Bent and Luka Modric.
But United, sparked by a controversial penalty, fought back to triumph.
Ronaldo converted the spot kick after Heurelho Gomes was harshly ruled to have felled Michael Carrick.
Wayne Rooney then equalised, before Ronaldo, Rooney and ex-Spur Dimitar Berbatov completed the remarkable turnaround.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp said: "The turning point was definitely the penalty.
"At that stage I couldn't see us getting beat. It was a gift which wasn't deserved. It was a terrible decision."
The result was a blow to Tottenham's Europa League aspirations, particularly with rivals Fulham winning, while United took another step closer to the title.
