Spurs have completed the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

The Iceland international was heavily linked with a move to Swansea City and Liverpool this summer but he has chosen to play his football in north London this season.

Sigurdsson enjoyed a fine loan spell with Swansea earlier this year, netting seven times in his 19 outings for the south Wales side.

The attacking midfielder scored 23 goals in his 53 appearances for Reading prior to his move to Germany and was named the Royals’ Player of the Year in his only full season with the first team.
