Defender Steven Caulker has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell with Swansea City in the Premier League last season and will now remain with Spurs until 2016.

Caulker had previously enjoyed loan spells with Yeovil Town and Bristol City and will hope to break into the first team set-up at White Hart Lane this season.

The new deal caps a successful week for the England Under-21 international after he was earlier included in Stuart Pearce’s Team GB squad for the London 2012 Olympics later this month.
