Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale scores twice to hand Wales World Cup qualifying win over Scotland

Gareth Bale scored twice in the last ten minutes to earn Wales a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 World Cup victory over Scotland in Cardiff last night.

Trailing to James Morrison’s 27th-minute goal, Chris Coleman’s men were heading for their third straight qualifying defeat until nine minutes from time when the Spurs winger was fouled by Shaun Maloney in the penalty area and he duly converted the spot-kick himself.

Bale then got his country’s World Cup campaign up and running with three minutes remaining when he superbly curled a 25-yard shot into the top corner of the net.
