Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas could select Jermain Defoe or Emmanuel Adebayor against Chelsea

Tottenham are hardly blessed with options up front but for the first time this season Andre Villas-Boas has a decision to make in the striking department.

Emmanuel Adebayor has recovered from a hamstring injury and has completed almost two full weeks of training meaning Jermain Defoe is now facing competition for his place.

Adebayor, who scored 18 goals last season, is yet to start for Spurs in this campaign while Defoe has scored four goals in seven league games this term, but none in his last two.

What might also enter Villas-Boas' thinking is that Defoe returns to the Tottenham fold a day later than expected after England's match against Poland was put back because of rain.

Defoe playing 67 minutes on a boggy pitch for the Three Lions and having a day's less rest may tip Villas-Boas' favour towards Adebayor.

So is it time Adebayor was handed his first league start of the season?

Should Villas-Boas stick with Defoe?

Or will AVB ditch 4-2-3-1 and pair the two together from the off?
