With a horde of female admirers screaming their love, you would have thought Daniel Radcliffe would be a contented man at the latest Potter premiere in New York.
But the young actor had his mind on more pressing issues: the plight of the English cricket team.
The keen fan of leather on willow admitted he was "gutted" to be missing the first Ashes test match against Australia.
"It's ridiculous. I would be so happy if I was at home watching the cricket," the 19-year-old said as he trudged up the red carpet.
Reflecting on a strong showing by Australia during the test's second day, Daniel said it wasn't all over yet.
"I think we are going to win the series two to one. We will bounce back in the second test."
Co-star Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter film, found it equally hard to be dragged away from the cricket.
"When Dan and I were told of the New York premiere, we said, 'Are you joking? You know what's happening on that day'."
Tom added that he and Daniel were on the look out for a place to watch the following day's play in the City that doesn't sleep nor understand the finer points of cricket.
