Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin's 30 Rock is leading the Emmy nominations with a whopping 22 nods.
The sitcom is up for top gongs including best TV comedy and best actress for Tina.
Retro 60s series Mad Men is close behind with 16 nominations and TV movies Grey Gardens and Into The Storm are among the frontrunners with 17 and 14 nods respectively.
The BBC's Little Dorrit will head the British charge for glory, with the drama nominated in 11 categories.
The Charles Dickens' adaptation is up for the Outstanding Miniseries title, while actors Tom Courtenay and Andy Serkis both received a nod for their supporting roles.
They join a host of British thespians being recognised with nominations for the US television awards. Hugh Laurie, Sir Ian McKellen and Kenneth Branagh are all up for Lead Actor titles.
Irish actor Brendon Gleeson has also been given a nod for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the BBC/HBO joint-venture Into The Storm.
Gleeson said: "A lot of people put a huge amount of commitment in and I am delighted for myself and everyone else involved."
Chandra Wilson of Grey Anatomy's and Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory helped make the announcement at the TV academy's theatre in LA.
The 61st Primetime Emmys will be handed out in LA on September 20.
