Peter Andre: Public life a mistake?

Peter Andre has told how living his life in the public eye with his estranged wife Katie Price may have been a "mistake".

The couple met on TV's I'm A Celebrity and have spent years allowing their lives to be dissected with fly-on-the-wall shows.

But he told ITV1's This Morning that he accepted it was their own fault for agreeing to such scrutiny.

Pete, who is trying to revitalise his singing career, said: "It's our fault - we cannot complain about things like that. I really don't like people that go on about getting followed around, I don't like it - there are people in the industry that don't want to take everything that comes with it. I take it all.

"I know I'm going to make mistakes along the way, because you do. Showing your life so public is a mistake sometimes, but I blame myself as much as anyone else."

Andre said he was trying to retain a dignified silence about the reasons his marriage to mother-of-three Katie - aka Jordan - had broken down. Last week she gave a TV interview in which she revealed she had suffered a miscarriage just weeks before the split.

"Right now, it would benefit me to speak, and there's a lot I would want to say," he said.

"But long term, I know the kids are going to grow up and look back at everything, so I'm trying my best - just so they don't have to say 'Dad, why did you say this?'. I just think it's the right thing to do."
