Leona Lewis hit Bleeding Love has been crowned the top tune for the UK's romantics.

The X Factor winner's song won first place in a poll of the most-played love songs in recent years.

Leona's 2007 track was followed by the Whitney Houston classic I Will Always Love You in the survey by PRS For Music.

Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On, from the blockbuster movie Titanic, was the third most popular tune.

The singleton's chart was also topped by a relative newcomer - Katy Perry with her 2008 single Hot N Cold.

The singer and current squeeze of comedian Russell Brand beat break-up anthem Survivor by Destiny's Child and With Or Without You by U2.

PRS (Performing Rights Society), which collects royalties on behalf of songwriters and composers, dipped into its records in the run-up to Valentine's Day to work out which songs have been played and performed the most over the past six years.

Chairman Ellis Rich said: "The right music for Valentine's Day can help provide a marvellously romantic atmosphere so it makes sense to put a bit of thought into what you play.

"If you are looking for a bit of girl power this Valentine's then something with good anti-love lyrics and a catchy tune is a must.

"I'm sure Gloria Gaynor's I will Survive is stored away carefully on most people's iPods."
