Gerard Butler has enjoyed playing a less "X-rated" warrior for once.
The 300 star explained how he's back in fighter mode again at the premiere of his new animated feature How To Train Your Dragon in Los Angeles.
This time though, we see Gerard voice a family-friendly Viking-leader.
"Normally when I play a warrior its pretty X-rated - very violent, bloody and intense," he said on the red carpet.
"This is an intense movie, there are a lot of great fun action sequences, but it's still a family movie.
"Adults love it and kids love it, so it's nice to be able to play the big strong, brawny, burly Viking yet be a part of a story that everybody can enjoy."
The Scottish star admitted it was a relief that he didn't have to spend weeks down the gym honing the perfect action hero six-pack.
"There are things that you miss about making a regular movie and there's things that you love about it as well, like I didn't have to do costume fittings and train and work up a body, go through make-up every day and put on scars and blood, which was great."
He added: "The other great thing is you're kind of like an audience member, you do your bit but you don't see it until the end, so it's as much of a pleasure to you as it is to an audience."
