A TEENAGER has been jailed for six years for stabbing another man despite his victim refusing to give evidence.
Daniel Agyeman, 18, was convicted of Grevious Bodily Harm at the Old Bailey for stabbing a 19-year-old man on May 18, 2008, in White Hart Lane.
The victim chose to not press charges but a police investigation linked Agyeman to the stabbing using forensic evidence and CCTV which proved Agyeman was in the area.
Agyeman and a second man were believed to have approached the victim when Agyeman pulled out a knife.
As the victim tried to get away he fell to the floor and Agyeman stabbed him several times.
The second man tried to stop Agyeman and the victim was able to flee to a nearby shop and call emergency services.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Suzie Chantry said: "This case should raise awareness that we will seek to prosecute violent offenders, even if the victim is unwilling to support a prosecution.
"This was a difficult case, without the cooperation of the victim, and I am pleased that the sentence should deters other from being involved in violent crime."
