The Tottenham Community Choir will perform at an event that offers residents the opportunity to sample some of the best locally produced goods.

The Tottenham Ploughman will take place on Sunday, September 8, giving locals a treat with food not normally sold in the area.

Sample plates of bread, cheese and homemade chutney and pickles will be sold for £4.50 and further products will be available directly from Wildes Cheese and Flourish Bakery.

From 12pm to 4pm visitors will also be able to choose from a range of beers offered by Redemption Brewery, to enjoy while they listen to variety of live music.

The event will take place at Downhills Park Café, a venue that helps adults with learning disabilities to gain new skills.

Cheryl Cohen, the project’s designer, hopes The Tottenham Ploughman will act as an antidote to the area’s lack of artisan restaurants and cafés.

Cheryl, who has been organising farmers’ markets in London since 2000, said: “Feedback has been very positive, I have yet to encounter a negative response to the idea. I want the event to prove that there are people here who want this good quality food.”
