Crouch End Liberal Democrat councillor Sarah Elliott has been appointed the new leader of the Liberal Democrats in Haringey.

Cllr Elliott, who says she is "fairly new to politics", has lived in Haringey for 29 years and joined the council following the recent elections in May.

Cllr Elliott shares the Crouch End ward with fellow new councillors Natan Doron and Jason Arthur, both members of the Labour party.

Aime, I hope you will tell us more about Sarah Elliot. How about a challenging interview with her? It would be interesting to know how she and her team plan to offer an effective opposition in Haringey especially to the arrogance and smugness of the Kober Council.

Is Sarah on the left or right wing of her party? Have the LibDems learned anything from their loss of seats? Will they be offering a new approach? Or will it be more playground "yah boo" politics in Council meetings? And morosely pointing at potholes outside?

Have the LibDems some fresh new ideas for how the Council should be run?

Above all, will Sarah be honest enough to tell people that more cuts on Haringey's grant from Central Government mean reduced services. And that if the Coalition go ahead with tens of millions further cuts this will impact on almost everyone but most of all on the poorest and most vulnerable residents.
