Police are appealing for any victims of non-recent sexual abuse to come forward.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police's sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse investigation team are leading investigations into allegations relating to three schools in the borough.

The cases being investigated relate to Greenfields School, in Coppetts Road, between 1980 and 1985, Highgate Wood School, in Montenotte Road, during the early 1980’s and Muswell Hill Primary School, in Dukes Mews, between 1966 and 1970.

Greenfields School closed down several years ago, but the remaining schools and Haringey Borough Council are aware of the allegations and are supportive of police action.

Detective Chief Inspector John Foulkes said: “Victims should have the confidence to come forward and report these matters, either to us or the NSPCC. You will be listened to and you will be believed.

“We have been working with our colleagues from the NSPCC and if you don't wish to speak to police I would urge you to speak to them to get any support that you need."

Anyone who wishes to report any information to police regarding these matters can contact the Haringey Child Abuse Investigation Team on 020 8721 6834 between 8am to 6pm.
